As medical supplies such as masks and protective suits are running low due to the spread of COVID-19, China paid it forward by donating ARROWS masks and surgical gowns on April 13.
ARROWS donated 1 ton worth of supplies to China between January and February when the COVID-19 outbreak was spreading across the country. Since then, the outbreak spread across Japan and there has been a critical shortage of masks and other medical supplies. To pay it forward, one of the biggest retailers in China, Wumart Group and Ryosen Co., LTD donated 12,000 surgical masks, 2,000 surgical gowns, and 800 face shields.
As COVID-19 continues to spread across the world, countries are competing against each other for medical supplies. To pay it forward the donations sent by ARROWS when the outbreak was at its worst in China, the companies donated the medical supplies to ARROWS.
On March 24, ARROWS also received 48,000 masks donated by well-wishers from Tianjin, China and Chinese residents of Japan. The donated masks and surgical gowns will be distributed to medical facilities around the greater Tokyo area where the infection cases are rapidly increasing.
◆ A-PAD Japan is accepting donations to prevent further spread of COVID-19. Thank you very much for your generous support.
