Due to the spread of COVID-19, medical facilities across Japan are facing a critical shortage of medical supplies. In response, on April 13-15, A-PAD Japan donated 5,580 masks to 3 local hospitals.
Dr. Yuichiro Sakamoto, Head of Saga University Hospital's Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine, said, "Thank you very much [for the masks]. We suspect that there will be more patients infected with COVID-19, so this assistance is very helpful."
These masks were part of a stockpile stored in a warehouse in case of emergencies. Since March, A-PAD Japan has distributed 31,080 masks to welfare facilities and day care centers in Saga. As of April 14, there were 15 confirmed cases in Saga and the number is rising. Hospitals are having to equip their facilities so that they can admit possible COVID-19 cases.
The masks were donated to Saga University Hospital, Saga Fuji Yamato Hot Spring Hospital, and Ogi City Hospital.
◆ A-PAD Japan is accepting donations to prevent further spread of COVID-19. Thank you very much for your generous support.
