On April 24, ARROWS leased a portable X-ray machine to Saga University Hospital. The hospital plays a key role in providing critical care in Saga.
A ceremony was held on the same day outside the hospital and ARROWS' project leader, Dr. Mototaka Inaba handed over the X-ray machine to the director of the hospital's critical care unit, Dr. Yuichiro Sakamoto.
While there is no end in sight for the spread of COVID-19, the hospital has set up triage posts outside. As a result, they became short on portable X-ray machines for critically ill patients inside the hospital and ARROWS decided to lease one machine to the hospital.
Prior to the ceremony, on April 22, ARROWS leased and installed trailer offices, a large room divider, and air tent to be used as triage posts. On April 24, ARROWS also donated additional two air tents.
Dr. Mototaka Inaba said, "COVID-19 has now become a national emergency. We hope the equipment will assist the hospital to save as many lives as possible." Dr. Sakamoto also said, "It takes time to procure medical equipment. We appreciate ARROWS' assistance to lease this machine to us."
