A-PAD Japan Donates Evacuation Center Management Guidebook to Saga Prefecture

A-PAD Japan prepared the "Beginner's Handbook on Evacuation Center Management for Community DRR Leaders" highlighting COVID-19 prevention measures for evacuation center management. On September 17, A-PAD Japan donated the guidebooks to Saga Prefecture.

Pictured above) Mr. Iwanaga (right) of the Saga Prefectural Government receiving the guidebooks. The guidebooks and posters are prepared with funds donated by National Instruments and Saga Prefecture.

The handbook highlights common challenges, useful tools, and operational procedures for evacuation center management based on lessons learned from past experiences.

A-PAD Japan also prepared posters for infectious diseases prevention and destigmatizing COVID-19 at evacuation centers. 2000 sets of guidebooks and 500 posters will be distributed to A-PAD Japan's partner municipalities as well as other interested municipalities and DRR groups free of charge. Please contact A-PAD Japan at  if you would like to participate in this great opportunity.

The handbook and posters are available for free download for municipalities and aid organizations. Prior approval is not required but please contact us at before use.
