West Japan Floods2018: Assistance Activities Report

Thank you so much for your support

On July 5, 2018, the heaviest rain to fall in the past 30 years, hit and devastated western Japan. A-PAD Japan immediately commenced emergency assistance activities at the onset of floods and landslides. Currently, in cooperation with companies, NGOs, and local municipalities, A-PAD Japan has been developing further assistance activities both in and around the affected areas.

We Provide Support to Organizations Working on Reconstruction in the Affected Areas

A-PAD Japan supports organizations reconstructing disaster areas hit by the west Japan floods. We lent a trailer to Nurse’s SOUL, an NPO that provides visiting nurses, who is currently operating in Mabi, Okayama Prefecture. Although SOUL’s office and staff housing were also damaged from the floods, they continue their nursing activities.

Support the “Airborne Rescue and Medical Team” through the Hometown Tax Scheme

If you donate to A-PAD Japan in Saga Prefecture’s NPO Support hometown tax scheme, your donation will go towards the Airborne Rescue and Medical Team and other disaster assistance activities.

Donations through the hometown tax scheme will be open until the end of January 2019.

As thank you gifts, you will receive special agricultural products and crafts local to Saga Prefecture. Your continued support helps in times of disaster.
