Today, A-PAD Japan distributed 350 free taxi vouchers at three evacuation centers in Omachi Town which suffered severe flood damage.
These vouchers will be used by people whose cars and motorbikes were damaged during the disaster. They can use them to go to a hospital or run errands. At the three evacuation centers, the A-PAD Japan staff distributed the vouchers and put up posters about the ride service.
Each voucher is limited to 1,000 yen per ride and one person can receive three vouchers in total. Today, the vouchers were distributed at the Omachi community center, the Omachi welfare center, and the Hijiri academy martial arts gym. The vouchers are valid until September 30, 2019.
This operation is supported by Omachi Tourism Taxi. The company`s CEO, Mr. Yamaguchi, said "Although our office became flooded and we are still in the middle of recovery, we would like to help the people affected by the disaster."
Mr. Miyazaki from the general affairs division at the Omachi municipality expressed his gratitude to A-PAD Japan, "We are very grateful for your assistance. Thank you very much."
Continuing on from yesterday, A-PAD Japan delivered 600 vegetable juice boxes at the Omachi welfare center and Omachi community center. We also delivered 50 vegetable juice boxes to a junior high school that became an evacuation center.
A-PAD Japan is continuing our needs assessment as we expect prolonged recovery and evacuation. In collaboration with businesses and partner organizations, we will provide essential items as quickly as possible.
A-PAD Japan is accepting donations through Hometown Tax ("Furusato Nozei") to assist the people affected by the disaster. Thank you for your generous support.
