On October 18, A-PAD Japan donated 300 portable water containers to the Iide Community Center in Fukushima. These water containers will be delivered by local welfare workers mainly to the elderly living alone and others receiving "mimamori" (caretaking) service.
Today, together with the head of the Soma-shi Social Welfare Council for Children, A-PAD Japan delivered water to 5 households residing near the community center receiving "mimamori" service.
Some areas in Soma-shi have already been reconnected to the water line. In the Iide area, the water line will be reopened on October 19. The other areas are expected to regain access to water within 3 days, however, drinking water will not be available for an additional 5 days.
Thank you for your generous support.
