Galapagos is a child welfare center in Takeo, Saga Prefecture providing after school services for children with disabilities ages 6-18. Galapagos offers commute services from schools to the center and personalized training programs for the children.
The center was opened in April 2019 but was flooded in August. The flood water reached one meter and their furniture, office supplies, and vehicles were damaged as a result.
The center finally resumed its services in November and support from their benefactors kept their spirits up.
The funds A-PAD Japan received for the Saga Heavy Rain assistance activities were used to procure the shuttle service vehicle.
